Rule No. 2 Proof of age
Satisfactory proof of age should be submitted with every initial registration of a player and no player may participate in any M.O.H.A. activity until such proof of age is provided. Parents agree to provide proof of age acceptable to the O.M.H.A. for player registration purposes.
Rule No. 3 Residency
MOHA supports an "Oakville first" residency policy. Registration and playing priority will be given to bona fide residents of Oakville at the time of registration, or be planning to move to Oakville during the playing season. Exceptions resulting from unique family situations (e.g. joint custody) will be referred in confidence to the Executive for approval.
Rule No. 4 Registration
Official registration of all players should be completed no later than the first Saturday of October, with the exception of potential additional players to complete team complements or to replace withdrawing players. Completed registration shall constitute, satisfaction of residence requirements, proof of age (if new), a properly completed player registration form and payment of all registration fees. Registration documents will remain in the possession of the M.O.H.A.
A registration form must be filed with the MOHA Office, accompanied by the appropriate fee before any player may be eligible to participate in any M.O.H.A. activity.
Rule No. 5 Injuries
The Town of Oakville, the M.O.H.A. and its agents undertake no responsibility for player injuries whatsoever, or any other liabilities. This rule to be stated and acknowledged on all registration forms.
Rule No. 6 Playing out of age Group
Any player playing in the House League wishing to participate in an age group higher or lower than the designation stated in Rule 1, shall normally do so only after consultation with the Vice-President, House League and with the permission of his parent or guardian.
An exception to the foregoing may occur when a player is assigned to a higher or lower age group by the House League Vice-President in consultation with the League Convenor in the interest of equity of play, to accommodate registration availability or in the case of a player choosing to come down to the House League from a Rep Team during the season.
This exception cannot be invoked in cases that will result in player movement from a non-contact league to a contact league nor where such upward movement will place the player in a league of combined age groups. In these cases parental permission is required.
Rule No. 7 Refunds
Registration fees for any player who, for any reason, ceased to play M.O.H.A. hockey prior to the 1st November, will upon written application prior to November 1st, be eligible to receive a refund in a pro-rated amount less an administrative fee as determined by the Executive.
An application on behalf of a player who ceases to play, after 1st November will not be eligible to receive any part of the fees as a refund. The Executive Committee under exceptional circumstances may waive this rule and authorize a prorated refund.
